If you believe the old adage that you are what you eat, it follows in thePasadena car insurance business that you’re likely to drive what’s on your mind. In simple terms if you are in a hurry and stressed, the chances of getting in an accident rises.

Insure.com and Quality Planning Corp recently released their top 10 list of the most crash-prone professions. I was surprised to find that the professions my mom wanted me to become top the list.

Perhaps it’s a sign that the people getting in the most accidents tend to have the most stressful jobs. There’s no yoga instructor on this list.

Overachiever’s who are always going to work with a sense of urgency make up this top 10 list.

Read on to see the top ten list and why Insure.com believes that each occupation ranks so high:

1. Doctors Per year, every 1,000 doctors average 109 accidents and 44 speeding tickets, landing them at the top of the list. Are these sleep-deprived residents and interns too tired to stay on the road.

2. Lawyers Per year, every 1,000 lawyers average 106 accidents and 37 speeding tickets.

3. Architects Per year, every 1,000 architects average 105 accidents and 72 speeding tickets. They may make a living at the drafting table, but on the road they can’t seem to draw the line.

4. Real estate brokers Per year, every 1,000 real estate brokers average 102 accidents and 39 speeding tickets. No big secret why – have you ever seen a realtor without a cell phone glued to his or her head?

5. Enlisted military personnel Per year, every 1,000 enlisted military personnel average 99 accidents and 78 speeding tickets.

6. Social workers Per year, every 1,000 enlisted social workers average 98 accidents and 33 speeding tickets.

7. Manual laborer Per year, every 1,000 manual laborers average 96 accidents and 77 speeding tickets.

8. Analysts Per year, every 1,000 analysts average 95 accidents and 40 speeding tickets. Perhaps if they analyzed how much they could save with a good driver discount, they’d be more careful.

9. Engineers Per year, every 1,000 engineers average 94 accidents and 51 speeding tickets. Using a calculator while driving definitely won’t help their cause.

10. Consultants Per year, every 1,000 consultants average 94 accidents and 50 speeding tickets. Perhaps they could give themselves advice on how to be better drivers.

Is your occupation on this list? Don’t fret if you do fall into one of the categories. Your Pasadena car insurance company will ask you what your profession is but that will not effect your cost of insurance, even if you are a doctor or lawyer. There are numerous factors figured in for your car insurance policies like your zip code, current driving record, etc… but most likely are not based on your career choice.

The Texas State law requires that Pasadena residents who drives a vechicle must have auto insurance. Purchasing auto insurance involves buying a policy from an insurance provider. The premium you pay depends on a number of factors such as age, gender, and the make, model, and year of the car. When you look for an auto insurance policy that will provide you with appropriate coverage, it is essential to understand the types of policies that are available.

The most common car insurance policies include:

Liability Coverage: This type of auto insurance is a must-have for every driver. It provides coverage for accidental physical harm and damage to property caused to another individual. Physical injury damages can include pain and suffering, medical bills, lost wages, and rehabilitation. Property damage can be damage caused to another driver’s car. Texas state laws determine how much liability coverage you must purchase for car insurance in Pasadena, TX. Texas provides a minimum set coverage that one must have, but most people protect themselves by purchasing more liability, however you can always get more coverage. The law requires liability coverage because most people do not have the cash to compensate another person for an accident.

Most car insurance companies like in Pasadena, TX, will provide coverage for a maximum limit as outlined in the insurance policy. The liability coverage limit can be anywhere from $50,000 to $1,000,000. The amount of liability coverage you get will determine how much your premium will be. The higher the liability coverage, the greater the premium will be. Most experts recommend coverage of 1,000,000 to ensure that you are fully protected. It is best to have at least $500,000 or $1,000,000 liability. This will make certain that you will be able to cover all damages and expenses that you may be responsible for paying.

Comprehensive Coverage: This coverage will cover any damage to your car that is not caused by another driver. Examples include fire, theft, (including car parts) weather damage such as hurricanes, floods, hail, ice storm, vandalism, hitting a object such as a deer, etc. Comprehensive Coverage is optional and is usually purchased for cars that are worth more than $1000. Deductibles can range from $250, $500, and $1000.

Collision Coverage: This type of coverage covers your car if it is damaged from a collision. For instance, you are covered if you crash into a fence or another car. This policy provides coverage for all damage minus the deductible up to the set maximum limit. It has to be an accident such as a collision caused by slippery roads. Deductibles range from $250, $500, and $1000. You should get this policy if you have an expensive auto.

In order to ensure you are completely covered in the event of an accident or another auto related mishap, you need to comprehend the details of each auto insurance policy. As well, you must comply with Texas state law regarding the type of insurance that they mandate for all drivers. To avoid unnecessary financial and emotional hardship, choose the auto insurance policy in Pasadena, TX that best meets all of your needs.
